Ice Race

Overview ​

Ice Race is a Skill & Rhythm event where players race across an icy course using a selected animal mount. The event focuses on movement control, sharp reactions, and keeping your speed through turns without sliding off the track.

The goal is simple: reach the finish before everyone else. Winning depends on clean steering, smart recovery, and learning how to handle the slippery movement of animal mounts on ice.

How to Play ​

At the start of the event, players are lined up in their animal mounts at the beginning of the course. When the countdown ends, the race begins.

Follow the track, stay inside the course, and steer through each turn as cleanly as possible. Ice Race is not only about going fast; it is also about staying in control while moving at high speed.

If you hit a wall, miss a turn, or slide off your intended path, recover quickly and get back into the race. Small mistakes can cost time, but good recovery can keep you close to the lead.

Try hitting the speed boosters to gain a small dash of speed, learn the course while in the blindness tunnel for better control and avoid getting stuck on corners.

Mount Control ​

Animal mounts on ice move not that differently from normal player movement. They slide quickly, take time to turn, and can be difficult to control if you overcorrect.

Smooth steering is usually better than sudden movement. Turning too sharply can make your animal mount drift too wide, get stuck inside walls in corners or end up hitting one of the obstacles.

Good players try to prepare for turns before they reach them. Lining up early makes it easier to keep speed and avoid losing control.

Win Condition ​

The winner is the first player to reach the finish line. If multiple players are close together near the end, the race can be decided by a single turn, collision, or recovery.

To win consistently, you need to maintain speed while making as few mistakes as possible throughout the course.

Tips ​

Start turning before sharp corners instead of waiting until the last second. Boats need time to rotate, especially when moving quickly on ice.

Avoid overcorrecting after a mistake. A small controlled adjustment is often better than swinging too far in the opposite direction.

Learn the course layout whenever possible. Knowing where the difficult turns are helps you prepare before they happen.

Focus on staying on the track instead of taking every risky shortcut. A shortcut only helps if you can take it cleanly.

If you crash or lose control, recover calmly. Panicking usually causes more mistakes and can cost even more time.

If you get stuck, use the block in your inventory to get unstuck and placed somewhere safe on the track again.

You only see a selected amount of players, but this doesn't mean they are the only ones in the event. To prevent lag, each player can only see a maximum amount of players. Your position is visibly shown on screen, so be aware that someone else might be ahead of you.

Common Mistakes ​

One common mistake is turning too late. By the time you react, the animal mount may already be sliding too far to make the corner cleanly.

Another mistake is trying to steer too aggressively. Ice Race rewards smooth control more than sudden movements.

Players also often give up after one crash. A single mistake does not always decide the race, especially if other players are also struggling with the course.
